EcoTour #8 : Priscilla Queen of the Medina

A Guesthouse, Artist residency & Eco-Community in the heart of Marrakesh

Story by Rubens Ben April 17th, 2016

DIy, Ecology, Upcycling

Priscilla is an alternative space situated in the heart of the Medina, the ancient city of Marrakech, with a philosophy based on recycling and DIY, melting with the traditional Moroccan architecture. The open air stage, studio or other spaces are available to give workshops, a course or create your own work.

Let the KidS play

Every Sunday afternoon there is a workshop for the kids (who are much better there than in street). Everybody is welcome to propose something constructive. This session was about teaching them how to up-cycle water bottles to build a “solar roof”.

A multidisciplinary Space

You can also find last-minute Yoga sessions or an eco-farm on the roof.

The space is also the residency of “MAC” ( Maroc Artist Collective ). Maroc Artist Collective a non-profit artist association, founded in 2014 . MAC’s trans disciplinary platform of international artists aims to create artistic and social oriented projects. Association members can create and present their work in this space. MAC is a collective who encourage individual artists to develop their work for a larger public with the support of its network.
